Mt. Ruapehu

Mt Ruapehu is NZ's largest active volcano. I was told it has erupted at least 50 times since the 1800's. The most recent eruption was in 1975. There is a small acidic crater lake near the summit. Mt Ruapehu is located in Tongarriro National Park. The park itself is absolutely amazing. There are so many incredible nature walks with waterfalls and so much nature.
