Milford Sound 
Milford Sound is located in Fiordland National Park. This area is astounding. It covers 1 1/2 hectacres and is the largest National park in New Zealand. It also one of the largest in the world. It's bordered by the Tasman sea on one end, a series of deep lakes on another, and in between there are rugged mountain ranges, and very deep valleys. There are over 14 beautiful fiords and many, many, waterfalls. It's absolutely amazing and a must see for anyone coming to NZ. This is also the home of an abundance of native birds, including the Kea parrot and rare plant species. This is also where they filmed part of the Lord of the Rings films... The pictures don't do it justice. I went to Milford sound on a day trip from Queenstown. We took a boat ride through Milford Sound, and it was just a breathtaking ride. There were waterfalls everywhere. It was amazing. I just wish I wasn't socializing as much and would have taken better photos. Click to see more.... |
