Bay of Islands

I loved Bay of Islands and Pahia. Bay of Islands is located 3 hours north of Auckland in the city of Pahia. It's a beautiful small beachlike community with incredible scenery and lots to do. I stayed in Pahia twice while I was in New Zealand. The first time I stayed for 7 days, where I stayed at a wonderful little hostel. During this time I got my dive certification. It was winter when I went so the town was very quiet and full of locals. During the summer Paihia is a popular weekend retreat for New Zealanders and I can see why. It consists of a bay of over 100 islands and it's incredible. I met some really wonderful people while I was here, and had some great late night conversations. It almost felt like I was living there for a week. I really enjoyed this place, and highly recommend it.
